Senegal has large areas of arable land and 70% of the active population are in the rural area and practice agriculture. Yet the country can not achieve food self-sufficiency. Dictaf has identified several reasons for this:
Farmers do not have access to information
Farmers lack training in modern techniques to increase crop yields and for sustainable agriculture
Women in agriculture face many difficulties and limitations
Many want to invest but do not have the skills
Dictaf supports those who want to invest in agriculture by training them on farming techniques and strengthening their agricultural capacities. Dictaf also helps women producers use new agronomic practices, thanks to their service, SOS-AGRI, which is a digital platform to help farmers during the entire agricultural production process.
